Hi,
I'm Oxygen!

May 29, 2018

My friend convinced me to give the psychic another try, so I went again, and this time, it was even weirder! They kept changing the temperature in the room, turning me from gas at room temperature, to boiling at -183°C, to freezing at -218.79°C, and then back up, so I melted at -218.4°C. It was SO cold! I know I'm pretty brittle, but after those freezing temperatures, I felt like I could just snap in two!
[EDIT]: Turns out I've been going to the wrong place. That wasn't a psychic; it was a lab, and I accidentally consented to be the subject of testing!

My job never ceases to be not boring. Sometimes, I'm helping things breathe; other times, I'm aerating soil. Usually, I work with plants, though; they like to store me for energy, but I don't mind. It's nice knowing I get to help, considering they can't get as much photosynthesis done without me. It's fun helping and being involved in aerobic respiration.

I had to go get a physical today. When I was done, I found out I was 15.999 u in atomic mass and had a density of 1.429 Grams/Liter... Maybe I should lay off the carb(on).

I went on one of those ancestry websites and found out I'm actually part of a huge family! I'm related to so many other elements; some that I hadn't even met before. Turns out I'm related to Carbon, Nitrogen, Fluorine, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Chlorine, Selenium, Bromine, and Iodine! It's comforting, knowing I have so many members in my family of non-metals.

I went to something of a psychic today, but it was really strange... First, they tried to set me on fire! Turns out all we learned was that I was (thankfully) not flammable but, unfortunately, a poor conductor of heat. They said I was highly reactive, though... maybe it's because I freaked out about almost catching fire LOL

Today, a couple of buddies and I decided to group up and make some compounds! I found that when I paired up with two of my Hydrogen friends, we made water (H2O), and when I paired up with two of my Hydrogen friends we made water (H2O) and, when I paired up with my brothers sulfur and Oxygen, we created something called sulfur dioxide (SO2). It was so much fun! I wonder what other compounds I could make...

Some people have said I'm pretty dull and colorless, which is a little disappointing to some, but I find that many other elements have had the same experience. It's nice knowing I'm not alone at least, especially since I'm the most common element that can be found on planet Earth. In any case, though I'm not very shiny, I am very important to my surroundings, considering that whenever I'm around, things seem to just spark and ignite with ease. Not to mention the fact that I'm literally needed for life to exist, considering without me, no one would have any water.
